Step 1

To save your completed object, first, you need to merge the object and the skelegons in one layer by Cut and Paste. Save object as ChickenMerge3_weight. Now, you should get ready for the second part of the tutorial, we are going to animate the chicken.

Now we are going to create weight map for the object. Select the first part of back toe for right leg in polygons selection mode.

Next, the Weight Map requester will pop out and name you need to name it as right_toeBack_01 for the first part of the back toe.

After that, create weight map for the first front toe and name it right_toeA_01 for the first part.

Name it right_toeA_02 for the second part.

Now, you need to create weight map for the second front toe and name it right_toeB_01 for the first part.

First, draw skelegons for the leg in the side view. One skelegon for the upper leg, one skelegon for fore leg, two skelegons for back toe, and a small skelegon which I circle up in the begining and the end of skelegons.

Next, select the fore leg skelegon to extend another skelegons for front toe.

Later, draw skelegons for the rest of the toes in the side view. Don’t forget to draw a small skelegon at the end of the skelegons.

After that, select the whole skelegons.

Later, you need to move it to the right leg in the top view.

To configure key, first, you need to press F1 to bring out the Configure Keys panel. Choose Create in Command column and then select Draw Skelegons and assign it in the Insert key.

Now, to merge objects into one layer, you need to cut the layer by pressing X key and copy to another layer by pressing V key. Cut and paste from one layer to another until it becomes a single object in one layer. Then save the object as chickenMerge.

In creating surface for objects, first you need to select the first layer, which contains the body of chicken. Next, press Q key to bring out the Change Surface panel and name it as body.

If you would like to modify side mouth, first you must use Stretch tool and Move tool to get the mouth shape done as shown in the picture below.

Later, select 8 points from top view as shown in the picture below and move it backward.

Next, select and move another 8 points as shown in the picture below. Look at the perspective view to make sure it looks nice and smooth.
